Carpet Stretching Disclosure
Compass Carpet Repair
Thank you for choosing Compass Carpet Repair. As an owner-operated business, I take pride in providing honest, high-quality carpet stretching services. Please review the following important information before service is performed.
1. Purpose of Carpet Stretching
Carpet stretching is performed to remove wrinkles, ripples, bubbles, and loose areas in existing carpet. While stretching significantly improves the appearance and safety of your flooring, results may vary depending on the condition, age, and installation quality of the original carpet.
2. Pre-Existing Conditions
Compass Carpet Repair is not responsible for pre-existing conditions including but not limited to:
Worn or deteriorated carpet backing
Dry rot or delamination
Pet damage
Water damage or mold
Previous improper installation
Loose or damaged tack strip
Weak or brittle carpet fibers
Seams separating due to age or wear
Stretching may expose underlying issues that were not visible prior to service.
3. Furniture Moving
Light furniture may be moved as needed.
Heavy, fragile, electronic, antique, or specialty items (pianos, safes, aquariums, etc.) must be moved by the homeowner prior to service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Compass Carpet Repair is not responsible for damage to items not disclosed before service.
4. Subfloor & Tack Strip
If tack strip replacement, subfloor repair, or additional materials are required, additional charges may apply. Any necessary repairs will be discussed before proceeding whenever possible.
5. Permanent Indentations
Furniture indentations may remain after stretching. These are compression marks and are not corrected by stretching services.
6. No Guarantee on Severely Worn Carpet
Carpet that is excessively worn, thin, brittle, or previously overstretched may not hold tension properly. While every effort is made to achieve long-lasting results, no warranty is expressed or implied on carpet that is beyond its serviceable life.
7. Seams
If seams are weak or deteriorated, stretching may cause them to separate. Seam repair can be performed for an additional charge if needed.
8. Liability Limitation
Compass Carpet Repair is not liable for:
Damage caused by improper original installation
Hidden structural or subfloor issues
Carpet that fails due to age or manufacturing defects
Pre-existing pet or water damage
9. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed.
