Loose wood, squeaking steps, cracked nosing, or uneven framing are not included in carpet replacement service.

Any structural concerns should be corrected prior to carpet installation.
2. Carpet Fit & Appearance

Slight pattern variation or shading may occur between steps.

Carpet nap direction may affect color appearance under lighting.

Minor edge variation along stair nosing may be visible.
-
Seams (if required) may be visible per CRI 104 industry standards.
Perfect uniformity is not guaranteed.
3. Stair Nosing & Edges

Existing stair nosing must be secure.

Carpet wrapping around nosing may feel firmer than flat surfaces.

Slight firmness at edge transitions is normal.
-
Minor spacing differences between steps may occur due to stair construction variations.
4. High Traffic Wear
Stairs are considered high-impact traffic areas.

Wear patterns may develop faster than flat flooring.

Fiber crushing is expected over time.
-
No guarantee is provided against future wear due to normal use.
5. Adhesion & Fastening

Carpet is secured using industry-standard tack strip, staples, or adhesive.

Minor staple visibility under close inspection may occur.

Carpet may require re-tightening if home humidity fluctuates.
6. Trip Hazard & Safety Notice
Following stair carpet replacement:

Carpet thickness may differ from previous installation.

Stair height perception may feel slightly different.
-
Individuals should use caution until familiar with the new stair surface.

Elderly individuals and children should exercise additional care.
Compass Carpet Repair is not responsible for falls resulting from unfamiliarity or misuse.
7. Furniture & Obstruction Removal
Customer is responsible for:

Removing furniture, décor, and personal items from stairways.

Securing pets and children during service.
8. Customer Acknowledgment
By approving stair carpet replacement service, the customer acknowledges:

Understanding of cosmetic and structural limitations.

Acceptance of standard stair installation variations.
-
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.
